Hello everyone, and thank you for playing the 2024 JSDGC Tag Release. As always, your support and participation is appreciated. Below is some priority information for Saturday's event. Please read thoroughly- very important.
First, our TD, Dave Kaminski, may or may not be on site due to a serious health crisis in his family. If he is not present, I will be handling his primary duties- player check-in, player meeting and hole assignments. I ask for patience and consideration, as this week has presented some unforseen weather, personnel and health challenges for a number of us.
As of now, we will be using the BEACH PAVILION area for check in. This is located near the hole 7 basket and is a departure from our normal set up down by hole 1. We are doing this as a concession to the possibility of bad weather. Check in is from 8:30-9:15. All players should park in the beach parking lot, which is plenty big enough to accommodate all of us. Players should report to the indoor conference room for check-in and will receive a stitched JSDGC lanyard and a one page caddy guide explaining the day's procedures and format. At 9:15, we will have a brief player meeting to acknowledge sponsors, discuss the event and address some of the new PDGA-mandated rules for the 2024 season. We will be using the "old school" system: hole assignments will be given out at the player meeting. Scoring will be done via UDisc or paper cards. If Dave is on site, this might change to a live scoring scenario.
Upon completion of the event, players should report back to the pavilion area to receive their tags. PLEASE STICK AROUND, as we do not wish to hold tags for people and want to expedite their distribution. There are no traditional payouts for this event. Plaques will be awarded to the top male and female tag holder. Pro payouts, posted scores, refunds and other business conducted on the computer will be handled by Dave at his earliest possible opportunity. Please be respectful of the process.
I will post any other major changes on Facebook by tomorrow evening; all other information will be handled the morning of the event. Be assured things will run smoothly and we will effectively deal with any of the day's challenges and bring you a fun event. Thank you, and please reach out privately with questions or concerns!
